MY STORY
I came to climbing late, only starting when I was 22 years old. However, as it tends to do with folk, it grabbed me with an intensity that has changed my life. It has been the motivating influence for my travels abroad, and has taken me to the most breath-taking of places.
Not long after climbing embraced me, I began studying Clinical Exercise Physiology, and recognised immediately that there was a void in the climbing culture where the expertise of health professionals should be.
From then I dedicated my study and professional practice towards gaining the skills necessary to treat and train climbers of all abilities. Whether it is musculoskeletal rehabilitation or athletic profiling for sports performance, I have the tools and knowledge necessary to help you get on track with those niggling injuries, or send that long standing project.

STRENGTH TRAINING
The single greatest, scientifically validated prophylaxis to injury.

Although the idea of lifting weights is quite foreign, or seems bizarre to some people, it is an essential component to staying injury free.

Psyched Climbing offers a unique repertoire of strength training modalities that will keep you injury free and crushing your projects.
BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING
Feel the pump! BFR creates a metabolic stimulus that yields strength and hypertrophy gains using lower weights than is usually required. This is an excellent adjunct to training that decreases the overall mechanical stress on tissues, which should be music to the ears for those of us who have a little ongoing niggle.

BFR is also highly validated in the literature as a rehabilitative tool for load compromised individuals, for example, when trying to rehabilitate a pulley injury.
PSYCHED ATHLETIC PROFILING
We use cutting edge assessment tools to assess your strength and rate of force development in various parameters to determine your athletic profile, including your strength to weight ratio and Dynamic Strength Index.
